XML Parsing Error: not well-formed glitch!
XML Parsing Error: not well-formed happened in this blog’s sitemap.xml. Have you sitemap xml already? if not, feel free to visit this creating sitemap xml wordpress tutorial.
I got a few lines of error message (you can see the lines in below paragraph), I saw just now when I click on my sitemap xml.
I was first, very surprised and have wondered if I change somethings in my files or something, so I have tried really to remember what has happened.
As long as I remember, I have updated some pages, but that was all. So I had no clue how this sitemap.xml errors happened. (related:importance sitemap page)
Some errors posts that ever happened to me in this blog, and how it was fixed. Some of them are fixed alone, some of them are even fixed by my host.
XML Parsing Error: not well-formed error message
I have noticed since I have built my sitemap.xml from the day one this blog was set up, there are some errors that happened sometimes, and this error has always yellow background in my sitemap xml page.
This time is no exception, the errors looks the same with the same background, the only difference is the message or notification. (related: yahoo application id sitemap, submit sitemap to google)
This is the error message that I saw, when I clicked my sitemap.xml page
XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location:https://www.wpvidz.com/sitemap.xml
Line Number 2955, Column 13:

If you have the same error message, you will probably have the different line number and column, but more and less, it will look like mine.
XML Parsing Error: not well-formed – How I fixed it
Note: As mentioned previously, I have not changed anything, except of updating my about me page, and another pages.
So if you did other than what I did, it will probably not work as I have done to fix it.
The fix was very simple, not even deinstalling the sitemap generator plugin.
I only rebuild my sitemap.xml and this XML Parsing Error: not well-formed was disappeared and my sitemap.xml went back to the normal view.
To rebuild the sitemaps, you can do following.
1. In the dashboard, go to Settings and select to click sitemap.xml settings link.
2. There will be a green font, saying “rebuild” your sitemap.
I click that rebuild button, and it did re-build my sitemap.xml although in the beginning, I did not really expect that it would help.
By the way, this simple method works for me to solve this issue. If you have the same issue, firstly I recommend to recall what you have been doing or changing your blog or website in the past 24 hours at least.
If you haven’t modified anything this simple method will work, but if you have, then try this method first, and if it doesn’t help, it may be caused by other things.
I hope you will never had this XML Parsing Error: not well-formed problem, eventhough it can happen to every wp blog owners out there, apparently.
