ReplyMe Plugin- Your Comment on The Post Has a New Reply

Last updated on February 18, 2017

WordPress Plugin to support your discussion or commenting power in your blog which will email the person who gave comment and got their comments replied.

If you have been using Subscribe To Comment plugin for a while, or you have been commented in a blog where this plugin is installed (like my blog now), it can really be annoying to always receive emails everytime a new comment is added.

Subscribe To Comment plugin is installed on almost WordPress blogs.

I noticed, whenever i wanted to give my comment this check box is always available.

The result, my email will be full of this new comments notification. Not what i want.

Just like this blog, i use Subscribe to Comment plugin, but in web6, i use ReplyMe plugin.

What does this Reply Me plugin do?

ReplyMe plugin is more convenient, in my opinion. This will “only” reply if your comment has a reply.

So when other poeple reply your comment, you will get an email notification that says, your comment on that specific post has a new reply.

Otherwise, you won’t get any notification emails even when a new comments is added to that post.

It is because those comments are not comment reply to your comment. Pretty awesome and less annoying!

You can choose any of them or maybe even both.

To install ReplyMe, you can do; Appearance → Plugins → New, type “ReplyMe” on the search box. Or download it from wordpress website.

  • Is my site loading fast? I use this shared hosting
  • Try my theme >

Tips: Try to comment on your blog for testing, to see which plugin you want to use.

One of the most annoying thing about notify me of the next comments is that you’ll get hundreds of notifying messages every post
you make . so i never check it before
but i think with this new plugin this problem will be a memory

    thank you

Exactly Rahul, you can give it a try, and let me know about your feedback.

      Thanks for commenting 😀

This is great feature Kimi. I might never be interested what all others speak about a post where I’ve commented, but I’ll asways wish to be notified when my comment is replied. I am always concerned to minimize the emails sent through my blog to readers to avoide the dilution of communication. If I am able to mail for only required messages this would improve the reader’s experience.

I feel the notification check box should be labelled differently than ‘Notify me of followup comments via e-mail’. It would be better if possible to label it ‘Only when my comment is replied, notify me’. This would make it easier to know it is different than all those other blogs.

You can use only ReplyMe plugin, so you won’t be notified all the times when people commenting 😀

Just when your comment is replied.

      Thanks for visiting Suresh!

Hey, Subscribe to comments plugin is really annoying and especially on blogs which get high number of comments. Reply me plugin is a great replacement, which every blog should have. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

      I agree, Namit.

I use ReplyMe plugin too, thanks for your nice input! 😀

This is the plugin I couldn’t find a few months ago and I had to use the Subscribe to comment plugin. I guess that commentators don’t like it. Thanks very much for sharing this one, Kimi. I am changing now. 🙂

I disabled Subscribe to comment and activate this plugin instead, Tuan.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment 🙂

Hey Kimi! Do you know if there are any problems with using both plugins (Subscribe to Comments and ReplyMe)? The reason I like Subscribe to Comments is for guest posters so they can keep track of all their comments. But I agree, ReplyMe seems like the better alternative.

Thanks! I found this very helpful.

      Hey Nick,

I have used both of the plugins since this blog was new. I haven’t had any problems caused by using Subscribe to Comment and ReplyMe.

I removed the subscribe to comment because i wanted to reduce the plugin usage. But if i would need it like you do, i would not remove it either.

You can use both of them.

      Have a nice day/night, Nick.

Hey Kimi, I was already using a plugin that only notified people if someone replied directly to their comment, but I like the way yours formatted the email so I’m giving this one a try.
