Google pr update 2011 | How i get my pagerank back from 0 to 4

Google pr update 2011 β€” Hot topics for webmasters.

For those who are active in webmasters forum or checking their blog PR regularly, should notice the Google pr update 2011 already or in a coming days..(mine is updated today, as i notice after i checked because of someone mentioning this Google pr update 2011 in a forum ).

For you guys who have increased PR in this Google pr update 2011, congratulations, for you who have still no pagerank, or not yet increased, you should read my story in this Google pr update 2011 post further..

Let’s talk more about Google PageRank, firstly what exactly a PageRank for our blogs are.

Google PageRank (Google pr update 2011 too) is a numeric value analysis thats Google search engine uses to show a website or blog’s importance on the web. The more important a website to Google’s “eyes” the higher PR it will get.

The numeric values shows from N/A until 10. Google has PR 10. This is why people who has blogs tend to bookmark their posts or blog to high PR bookmarking sites, to add “importance” value for their websites. For more infos on this, you can read it on wikipedia website.

But keep it in mind, PR (including this Google pr update 2011) does not guarantee that your blog has a good position in Google search engine result pages (first or second page of Google). There are tons of blogs which have high PR but less traffic.

Google pr update 2011 β€” what is so good if you have higher PR?

I had a story with this blog. When i started this blog a year ago, after two months, i got PR 2. Then a few months later, there was an update, and my PR dropped from 2 to 0. I was sad, because i was so new in blogging world, i thought, what have i done to get my pr dropped from 2 to 0?.

Because i was sad, and wanted to get it back, i asked in many forums about it also posted in web6.org about pagerank dropped to 0.. In the end, i come to conclusion that Google pr update 2011 is not important nowadays, since people can manipulate it with buying links, and those “blackhat” stuff. Though Google staff is also getting smarter and can trap your blackhat method, so be aware..

As i mentioned, Google pr update 2011 is or PR generally is not too important if you don’t have traffic and also because it can drop again after this Google pr update 2011, however it is important if you want to advertise in buyandsellads.com site or any other advertising site.

google pr update 2011
Google pr update 2011 my pagerank at the moment.

But these are advatages if you have high PR which applies to this Google pr update 2011 as well.

1. Higher authority and weight.

When you have a higher PR blog, it determines that your blog has more authority and weight on the webmasters world.

Google gives this authority to show only quality websites have a good PR. Since people can cheat it therefore, Google is more strict to list high quality websites.

2. More people want to advertise in your site, because of its credibility.

In number 1 above, more weight means more credibility. When a visitor as a webmaster visit your blog and find out that your blog has good value for Google, they notice too, that your site must have content.

This means, more advertisers want to put their website’s link to your blog. Funny, because yesterday, i received an email from someone, and she asked how much per month i charge for an advertising. At that moment i did not realize that my pr is updated to 4.

3. The more chance to get indexed frequently.

Because Google think that your website is very important for its visitors, Google bots will crawl your blog post or page more frequently and indexed it quick too.

Google pr update 2011 β€” How i get my pr back from 0 to 4 tips.

  • Is my site loading fast? I use this shared hosting
  • Try my theme >

I want to create free ebook on this (including my white hat secret + videos how i did increase my page rank in Google pr update 2011) so keep updated, or better subscribe..

But these are the changes i have made on this blog to get better result in this Google pr update 2011:

1. Switch theme to Thesis. (see more on the reasons why i use thesis theme post).

2. Use this blog seo plugin that can boost ranking (because this plugin can check keyword density, h2 tag, etc).

3. Make this blog nofollow. Yes, because to me, i prefer to have 0 comments than spammy comments. (sorry to sound harsh, but i just want to be honest).

That’s only the basic big change that i have made on this blog, and then i got this Google pr update 2011 good postive result from 0 to 4.

I don’t know if it’s hit my blog yet as it’s still PR4. I’m all not that worried about PR though, although it is good for getting that little extra out of the advertisers πŸ˜‰

For me it’s all about the SERPS as that’s what brings in the traffic.

Congratulations on getting your PR4 Kimi.

Well Congrats for not only getting your PR back, but for a higher one. Maybe Google realized how unjust they were the first time they decided to drop yours. The things you have done that helped are good advices and the “blog seo plugin” is totally recommended. I use it too :), but I found that it works best for SEO, although every bit helps, right πŸ™‚

    • Kimi says

      January 21, 2011 at 7:40 pm

      DiTesco,

I guess it was because of many factors, one of them my commentluv plugin, i was too nice (wink wink) so i approved many spammy links..not sure though..but i did lots of changes..

Yeah, best seo plugin helps too, important is our content, isnt it?

      Thanks so much for visiting!

      Kimi.

    Hi Kimi
    Well done on PR 4.
My site has PR 3 but this year I am going to work hard to get to PR 4.

I’ve been thinking for some time about Thesis Theme – do you think that it helps with PR?

BTW – thanks for your comment on my blog.

    • Kimi says

      January 21, 2011 at 7:44 pm

      Keith!

Congrats on PR3, i expected to get PR0 because it was on 0..

PR is not as important as years ago nowadays, except for advertisers πŸ™‚

I did switch my theme to Thesis about two or three months ago, it is not only Thesis but other SEO optimized themes will help.

What i like about Thesis is, it gives me nofollow links where they should be placed..

Love your blog’s improvement, impressing! Congrats too

Thanks for visiting and commenting πŸ™‚

I love your articles and found lots of information that has really helped me. I recently switched from a wp template to genesis and set up everything, all my plugins, checked with google webmaster tools, installed some plugins you said were good. I was at Google PR 2 and when I switched to Genesis I lost my rank and went to 0 What am I doing wrong? How can fix this? Your advice is greatly appreciated?

    • Kimi says

      January 26, 2011 at 7:57 am

      Hi Jodi!

This is exactly what i feel what my PR went down from 2 to 0 last year. This can happen because lots of things, not because your theme πŸ™‚

Example, why you can loose your PR:
      1. Your backlinks are gone, it means, people linked to your site, and this links are removed.
      2. You have too much outbound links, it means when you link to other sites, make sure it is “nofollow” unless this link is from “high rank” or “links that Google trusts” it does not mean your other site links are bad sites, but if they are trusted by Google, this is important.
      3. You don’t put “nofollow” for external links which are mostly affiliate links.

I have checked your sites, in your posts and pages, they are too much external links that are “follow” I use and recommend this seo plugin if you have a budget, this will detect any follow links in your blog post whenever you write a post. This will avoid “external linking”.

Have you checked in webmaster tools, whether you have duplicate contents notifications? What i would do is, concentrating your content, building links to relevant blogs and you will get your PR back in the next update, probably it will be increased!

I did not expect to get PR4 though i know it can drop anytimes. Search engines algorithms is hard to predict πŸ™‚

I would not care about PR too much either, as high PR does not equal of traffics.

As long as your traffic is not dropping, don’t worry, keep on posting quality contents and build links.

PageRanks can be manipulated by people, for example, people try to get higher Pr buy buying links and then sell their websites once they have high PR; so easy to manipulate nowadays, Jodi..

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

      Thanks.

    Hey Kimi, nice post!

I didn’t know that Google had changed their PR ranking this year. Dah!!! But my main blog has gone from a PR3 to a PR4 so that’s good. My 2nd blog is still very brand new so it hasn’t received any ranking yet. But I also agree that the traffic is definitely important and mine continues to grow on both blogs so for that I’m thankful. I also have the Thesis theme on my main blog but nothing else that you mentioned. Will have to think about that.

But congratulations for getting your PR back. I know you must be so thrilled.

    Adrienne

      Adrienne!!

Congratulations!! Yeah, new blogs need time, but i guess it will have ranking in the next update, if not, also it will come someday, most important is traffic, agree 200%!

Yes, i was happy to get the PR back πŸ™‚

Thanks for visiting Adrienne, so glad to see you around,

      Best regards,

      Kimi.

One of my blog got PR4 but only 100visit / day. Currently I am having a blog Pr0 with 5000 visitors/day… So I realised Google is correct: “Content is King”. If your content is good regardless of your PR people still found out… otherwise it’s useless.

I guess your blog have both quality: content and links. So congratulations..

    Binh

      March 4, 2011 at 6:45 pm

      Binh,

      Thanks,

Yeah, but at the moment, after people said, Google change the algorithm, I notice non-important websites aka content farmers rank higher again.

In the other side, since I own autoblog LOL, I am happy, but the other side, I am not happy, because however, good content sites should be ranked higher than autoblogs.

      Thanks!

      Hello Martin,

Thank you for your nice comment, yes, instead of thinking PR which can stress out if we don’t get it, it is better to make traffic and content as the priority.

      Thanks,
